World Cup 2006

As you have probably seen the world cup's draw a couple of days ago. There is only one amazing group, we probably love to call it "The group of death" which is group C. This group has Argentina that has been placed among the top eight seeds for the 2006 world cup. Alongside Argentina, there are Netherlands, Ivory Coast, and Serbia & Montenegro. Although, Serbia & Montenegro was placed as a special pot, they are still surprised and shocked too. I don't blame them at all, who would like to be alongside Argentina and Holland, nobody!

Before, I go any further concerning the 2006 world cup, I just would like to mention something I have read in bbc.com. That is, The winners of the World Cup Final will earn £10.75m as part of a total prize pool of £130m for the tournament. Also, Fifa announced on Tuesday, 6th of December, that the 32 teams taking part will be guaranteed at least £2.6m each in prize money.

I actually wonder if you guys, who love watching football, have realized something in the schedule of matches, especially in the 2nd Round. If not, then here what I have realized and followed: if Italy gets the 2nd place in Group E, then Italy will play against Brazil, and that is most likely to happen. I support Italy of course, but I somehow believe I would not be surprised if they get in the 2nd place, since Italy has been known for the unacceptable play during the 1st Round. Also, the last match in this group is "Italy vs. Czech Republic" and they might be defeated by the Czechs. On the other hand, Italy will play that match as a proper final match, because they do NOT want to face Brazil in the 2nd Round. And if that will be the case, then we guys will watch an early final, and one of the best ever will be. I personally hope that will ever happen in such an early stage. We love watching them beating other teams, before one of them will defeat the other.

For the time being, we shall just wait and see the figures, till then - Have a lovely Christmas!
